I’m Tim. I currently live in Charleston, South Carolina, with my partner and two dogs. When I’m not thinking about food, I’m immersing myself in a good book or overindulging in dark chocolate and wine. I have degrees in English and Psychology, but lately I’m more passionate about wellness, creativity, happiness, and the culinary arts. You can learn a few more facts about me here.
Why wellness and recipes? When I was in college I lost almost all of my hair to early-onset male pattern baldness. It was pretty clear that my diet was the culprit as I’d survived on McDonalds, soda, and Jolly Ranchers for as long as I could remember. I didn’t even know what kale was and I’d never eat a banana in the morning. It became clear that I needed to make adjustments, and through my brother-in-law, his wife, and a good friend I was able to change my habits slowly to incorporate healthier options. I love to read about, experiment with, and test food. It’s something we need, yes, but it should also be enjoyable. It’s for this reason that I can often be found poring over research and facts about superfoods, adaptogens, and the like.
About the Blog
Born in the chilly winter months of 2016, Full Bloom Kitchen started as a cathartic outlet. Isn’t that always how it goes? My job was boring and unfulfilling, so I figured I’d be able to share my excitement for cooking with anyone that chose to listen as an escape. FBK originated as an entirely plant-based blog, but after dietary changes and a brush with an eating disorder things quickly shifted to a more omnivorous focus. It’s not paleo, ketogenic, or anything else. I think labels can be tricky so I tend to avoid them, especially in a food and wellness space. I tend to focus on incorporating a smorgasbord of well-sourced whole ingredients, responsible meat products, and the occasional raw dairy item.
Simply put, FBK is about being the best version of yourself however that manifests in your day-to-day. As long as you’re growing and exploring, your kitchen, your wellness, and your life will continue to bloom.
Thanks for visiting Full Bloom Kitchen and reading all about what I’m trying to do! Say hi, comment on a post or two, or simply enjoy yourself in your own blooming kitchen. If you want to know more about myself, the blog, or the content I share, please contact me by emailing email@example.com.
